THE CONFERENCE
It is with great pleasure that we announce the holding of the 3rd Atlantic Rural Tourism Biennial.
Organised in conjunction with "Azorean Houses", "the Azores Tourism Association" and the Regional Tourism Board, this event is designed to fulfil various functions:
To be a space for dialogue between promoters of Country House Tourism (TER) and other public and private agents with interests in this area of accommodation;
To be a broader space for debate and the introduction of new ideas.
The programme aims to reflect the principal challenges faced in this sector:
the suitability of national legislation and its regional adaptations to the reality of TER in the Azores;
the regional incentives available for investments in this area;
the importance of associations in promoting this type of accommodation;
providing alternatives for tourists who are searching for closer contact with nature and the rural environment;
the best means of intervention in terms of the restoration of traditional houses for TER, decoration aspects, genuineness, good taste and quality in welcoming/service.
We are certain that this will be an important moment of reflection and learning.
